Transcription with AI correction
Automatic speech recognition often writes a word that sounds like what was said but does not fit – "we need to by the licence" instead of "buy the licence", "the third courter" instead of "the third quarter". That is why Breev runs an AI over the text after transcription. It reads every sentence in context, replaces words that make no sense where they stand and spells names and technical terms consistently throughout the transcript.
The correction also removes typical speech recognition artifacts, such as invented caption credits like "Subtitles by the Amara.org community" or loops in which one sentence repeats over and over. The content and order of what was said stay unchanged: the AI does not summarize, translate or add anything.

How is my data processed?
Protecting sensitive data is especially important when processing speech. Your file is transferred encrypted. Speech recognition runs on our own servers in Germany – your audio file does not leave our infrastructure and is automatically deleted after transcription, even if an error occurs.
For the AI correction, only the text of the transcript is then sent to OpenAI in segments – without the audio file and without any details about you. OpenAI processes the data as a processor and does not use it to train its models. The finished transcript is shown to you via a random link and automatically deleted from our cache after one hour; it is not stored permanently.

- Tap on the recording you want to transcribe.
- Tap the share icon (square with an up arrow).
- Select an option:
- "Save to Files" → saves the file locally or in iCloud.
- Or forward directly to an app, such as Safari, Chrome, or a web app with an upload form.
- Go to the Breev website and tap the "Chose File" field.
- Select "Browse" and navigate to "On My iPhone" or "iCloud Drive".
- Select the previously saved voice memo (file format usually
